ATZ Casino Carnage

“Sarah, you are sure the casino bosses were stockpiling all kinds of stuff in the hidden
safe room before you left to try to find your mom back in DFW?” asked Shane.

“Yeah, as soon as the craziness started they started stocking up on meds, food, ammo,
and I swear maybe even gas”, exclaimed Sarah.

“Well sounds like it’s worth a trip north of the Red River and we’ve got enough gas to
get us there…I think”, added Tex.

Mission

Get into the casino and find the master key which didn’t look special so it should
be on his body whether he is a survivor or zombie. Unless he’s locked in the safe
room of course but positive thoughts. Finding a Luxury Item will represent the
object we are looking to acquire.

Group

Shane Rep 5 Star Shotgun
Sarah Rep 4 Pistol
Tex Rep 3 BA Pistol

We arrive!

We enter the map at Parking lot E and it’s Ragers! Ragers are the genius result
of the government’s attempt at a cure. People who have the cure injected not
only still turned but became fast and super aggressive zombies. There are not
too many in the world but they are trouble. Luckily in the parking lots we see
them first and quickly dispatch them.

We move into the entrance and quickly kill the lone zombie but don’t find
anything valuable.

The group heads to the front desk when we spot three other survivors. We cautiously
engage them in case they have what we need. Luckily Shane passes the encounter
tests and after a brief interaction determine they just are looking for food. We give
them some and they head for the exit. We are force to move on and after clearing
another area head back to the front desk as we couldn’t search after encountering
the survivors.

Zombies!!! Where’d they come from? The zombies have the drop on us and
charge. Shane drops two and Sarah gets one as they move in but Tex misses both
of his shots. Tex manages not to get bit but can’t take out the zombies. I use a house
rule that after three rounds of melee others unengaged can add in.
Shane and Sarah each move in and quickly eliminate the zombies.

Yes! Our loot card is a luxury item. In fact one of the zombies was the boss.
He must have come out to try and secure the outer doors.

Our first mission is done. We will regroup and make our plan to get to the
safe room.

Final Thoughts

I plan to play the entire campaign to clear the casino. The easy of play and fun
delivered in Casino Carnage was top notch. The rules are a quick read and I
think the table used if you get wounded by a zombie is awesome. I may port
that to every zombie game I play.

The game is a good basis for generating your own scenarios as well. The building,
loot, and encounter decks have endless combination.

I will play each of the 10 THW board game offerings and post an AAR and my
thoughts.

Zombicide: Running the Rock

Wanda was nervous as she looked back at the team. This was her first mission
to plan and lead. She considers this team family after all the have survived.
“Ok, one more time. We get to the control room and open the exterior door
then everyone but Josh heads out. Josh will let us back in when we signal.
Everyone got it?”, asked Wanda. The team nodded and they were ready. If
the notes they found were correct they should find the replacement parts needed
to use the machine shop again. With the machine shop and salvage they can
get the yacht ready to explore across the bay. They had seen signals from the
coast which were now much less frequent but it had been clear they had been
SOS messages sent by flashlight and mirror.

The team smashes open the path to the control room

With the door open Wanda moves quickly before the zombies can swarm

Doug and Ned notice that opening the front door clearly opened an interior
door too.

The zombies are coming quicker than planned

The prison zombies coming from the rear are endangering the plan

Wanda makes a stand on the pimp car!

Amy links up with Wanda while Phil decides to stay with Josh. Doug and Ned
will join the effort to gather the items outside the front entrance.

“Time to improvise, Amy you and me will go get the last items. Doug and Ned cover
us and keep our retreat path clear” shouted Wanda above the mayhem.

Phil and Josh keep the area clear

Wanda and Amy head toward the block of offices

Zombies are closing from all sides. Amy and Wanda prep to crash the offices while
Ned and Doug work hard at holding the egress open.

Wanda and Amy are forced to escape the other way after grabbing the prize

Doug holds the entrance and Ned takes on the runners

Get those doors open!!!

Ned uses the concrete saw on the Abomination

Amy decides to put our Molotov Cocktail to good use destroying a large part of the
remaining zombies on The Rock

Conclusion
“I feel like I just ran The Rock 10k”, mussed Wanda as she looked through books, notes,
and items they had gathered today. The team was very excited to have survived and
set the table to get the yacht ready to explore the area. As the team sat around decompressing,
Wanda interrupted the small talk,”you’ll never believe what’s in the notebook I scooped
up in the offices says”.
“The secrets of time travel”, joked Josh
“No but almost as good. These notes say the hospital across the bay had a cure they
were about to test!” exclaimed Wanda.
“I guess we know where we are going as soon as we make our repairs”, said Phil
“Looks like we have a hospital to checkout before we look for the source of those
signals we’ve spotted”, added Doug.

Zombicide once again provided a tense close run game. We were lucky to find good
gear quickly. Until next time....Old School Gamers Out

Z Day - Doug’s Backstory

Zombicide: Doug’s Backstory [Zombies!!!]

Before meeting up with you folks? Well, to be honest, I sort of

welcomed the apocalypse. Not many people get to see the jerk

that “downsized” you get munched! Yep. That was a fine day.

I’d just left my old office for the last time and was standing out

on the street. Demoralized. Angry. Worried about the future.

Little did I know the next 30 minutes would clean my slate of

issues.

The sirens at both ends of town, fire station and police station,
began blaring at the same time. Hard to hear the screams over
those.

It took me a few looks to buy into the zombie apocalypse. But
when a saw a few shamblers enter my ex-boss’s building, I had
to smile. I decided to make towards the Police Station on the
outskirts of town.

Started to regret that choice as I passed the retail stores. Must
have been easy pickings for the zeds in those places.

It was tough going with only my pocketknife, but fortune favored
me when I was able to quietly loot some much needed upgrades
from the surplus store. The managers dog took a liking to me.
Guess his ex-master must have been a scary Zombie.

One block to go. My brand new semi was a great help in cutting
a path. Dog raced towards a specific zombie up ahead, ignoring
my shouts.

Dog didn’t stand a chance. Too many biters. Well, I cleared the
path to the Police Station.

Lucky choice on my part. Found two officers that had a barricade
set up while running comms to the few remaining officers trying
hard to Protect and Serve.

We hunkered down for two weeks. After the first three days, no calls
came in. The two officers told me to pick a cruiser, some reloads,
and wished me luck. They headed out hoping to find family before
heading into the country.

There are so many fun zombie games out there and playing out
The backstories of our main survivors in the Yacht Campaign has
let us get those to the table again.

Negan Claims the Sanctuary

Here’s Negan Game Overview

We played scenario one in Mantic's Here’s Negan from their
The Walking Dead line. The games is perfect as a solo or
Cooperative game and the rules cover both. Each future Savior
Lieutenant has a unigue skill that makes each special and different.
Negan runs himself and acts per his own set of cards and action.
I’ll say keep Negan happy or you pay a price.

The game contains a wealths of event cards and items to be found.
We used less than a quarter of them in the first mission which
will add to variety and replay value. The game can be played
episodically or as a campaign where damage and items carryover
to subsequent missions. The game also contains the character cards
for each lieutenant in case you would like to play them in the All Out
War skirmish game.

The action is driven by the threat tracker which builds based on
events, noise, and survivor actions. The walkers have entry points
like Zombicide or Space Hulk. The walker blips added a cool
unknown feel to what was wandering the sanctuary.

Mission One Photo AAR

We completed mission one with the loss of one lieutenant as a result of
Negan’s encouragement! We under appreciated the impact of noise
easy and thus spent lots of actions trying to keep the threat level from
hitting auto defeat.

All in all Here’s Negan is a fun standalone game in a great universe.

We will have more AARs and game reviews up soon. We great appreciate
your visit and would love any comments and follows.

Patrol Z - Warfighter WW2

Warfighter WW2 - Patrol Z

It is 1945 and our mission is to capture some nefarious German scientist named
Albrecht  Schmidt. Sergeant DeLay would lead the mission. Corporals Scanlan and
Taylor were also going. Along with two new replacements, private Roble and
private Owens

We came out of the fields into a cratered forest. We heard strange noises. We were
suddenlyattacked by some strange looking German SS. 8 rifleman. Sergeant DeLay
used his sub gun and grenades to mow down these attackers. Private Roble using his
M1 shot down more attackers which came wandering across the field. We inspected
the bodies and had to report that they  looked like they had been dead for months.

On the other side of the crater we came into a pasture. We stumbled upon a platoon of
weird looking troops. Corporal Scanlan opened up with his BAR and began mowing
down the  officers and troops armed with flamethrowers. Roble and DeLay took out the
remaining rifleman and ambushers.

Clearing the open pasture, as we approached a wooded area, snipers opened up on us.
They nailed PVT Owens before we could hit the deck.

After we clobbered the snipers and cleared  the woods, we ascended to the high ground.
There we were attacked by storm troopers with flamethrowers and machine guns. DeLay
called in mortar support. Using his sub gun he destroyed the storm troopers while the
mortars took out the machine gun nest. But not before the machine gun nest had cut
down PVT Roble.

From the hilltop we could see the village where the doctor was holding up. The place was
crawling with unarmed zombies led by Commander Z. Commander Z was truly a super
soldier and took everything we had to kill him. These must have been recently zombified,
as they withstood several well aimed attacks before toppling over.

The three remaining squad members, entered the village and searched for the doctor.
But he was nowhere to be found. What we did find horrified us. Some insane laboratory
of smashed beakers, burnt rooms, and torched remains. HQ would want a serious debrief on
this place. And we would want replacements with bigger guns.....

Conclusion

The Zombie deck is a really tough opponent. The Nazi Zombies have high cover and

are fearless which is a brutal combo. Thanks DVG for giving us fun options like this

in so many of your games. We look forward to the Japanese and German Supernatural

deck in Warfighter WW2 Pacific. We appreciate your visit, comments, and follows.
